Prepare for Your Blessings!
None of us know what the future holds, but one thing we do know is that God loves us and desires to bless us.
Welcome to the 88th issue of The Aim and Soar Life, a weekly newsletter about faith, personal growth, and lifestyle that provides actionable, relatable, and biblically rooted content to help you live abundantly and GROW YOU. GOD’S WAY.
Happy Sunday, Friend!
It’s December! We made it!😍
As we embark on our journey into the new year in just a few short weeks, let’s get ready! We don’t know what’s in store for us in the new year, but God does. Let’s wait with an anticipation that is rooted in the knowledge that God can do GREAT things in our lives, even when life is tough.
December’s theme is Preparing for Your Blessings.
I don’t know about you, but these last three years of post-pandemic living have been super rough on me in more ways than one. I’m looking for some sunny skies in 2024!
One of the things that I have done over the last decade is to review my prayer journal at the end of every year to see where I was mentally, emotionally, and spiritually during the year.
I look back at my growth and answered prayers and my setbacks so that I can see what I need to do differently or continue to do in the upcoming year.
About a week ago, I had the unction to clear out some things from my house that are no longer of use to me and put my house in order (it’s been looking chaotic due to my work and counseling schedules). I have begun a cathartic cleaning process of my entire home.
In my basement, I have an old cedar closet where I’ve stored a lot of items that I haven’t used in over seven years! I’ve been taking my time doing a little every week to rid my home of these things.
The clearing out hasn’t just been because of the upcoming new year; it’s way bigger than that. I have been motivated by a strange need to “prepare.” I feel like I’m being prompted to get ready for something important and I have no idea what it is.
The clearing out, cleaning, and organizing of my home has been symbolic of my spiritual growth and preparation.
I recognize that it is time for me to clear out some things in my heart that don’t serve me spiritually by letting go of painful memories, hurt feelings, and disappointment.
By the same token, I recognize that it is time for me to embrace the possibilities of what God is planning for me each day and in the new year.
None of us know what the future holds, but one thing we do know is that God loves us and desires to bless us.
What is it in your life that you need to let go of as you ready yourself for the things God is planning for you?
What are some things you need to embrace in order to serve Him more fully and be a witness to others?
Here are 3 things you can do this week to prepare for your blessings:
Make a list of things/emotions that no longer serve you spiritually and pray and ask God to help you let go of these things.
Make a list of the things you need to embrace.
Write down your dreams and goals and ask God to remove anything in your heart that is not His will for you so that you can focus your time and attention on the things God desires for your life.
I love in Scripture when the children of Israel were preparing to enter the Promised Land and God told them that if they were obedient, He would bless all that they set their hands to and establish them as a holy people to Himself. How powerful!
8 “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
9 “The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.
Deuteronomy 28:8-9, NKJV
Well, guess what???
God wants to bless you too!
It only makes sense that you prepare yourself for whatever God is bringing into your life. He knows how to give good gifts!
Start preparing by letting go and embracing.😍
Peace and Love.
Until Next Time,
GROW YOU. GOD’S WAY.
